Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Axle website at withaxle.com, the web application at app.withaxle.com, the Framer plugin, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Axle ("we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Axle is a software tool that enables users to accept payments on Framer websites through Stripe. Axle provides a Framer plugin, a payment button component, a transaction dashboard, and related infrastructure to facilitate this.

Axle is not a payment processor. All payments are processed by Stripe. Axle acts as an intermediary that connects your Framer site to your Stripe account. You maintain a direct relationship with Stripe, and Stripe's terms of service and acceptable use policies apply to all payment processing.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

You must have a valid Stripe account to process live payments through Axle. You are responsible for maintaining your Stripe account in good standing and complying with Stripe's terms.

3. Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account, API key, or login credentials with unauthorized third parties.

You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Plans

Axle offers Pro and Pro+ subscription plans. The features, limits, and pricing for each plan are described on our pricing page at withaxle.com/pricing.

Free trial

All new accounts receive a 7-day free trial with full access to the chosen plan. No credit card is required to start a trial. During the trial, you have access to all features of your selected plan, including live mode and payment processing.

If you do not subscribe before the trial ends, your account will be paused. While paused, your data, settings, and Stripe connection are preserved, but checkout buttons on your Framer site will stop processing payments. You may reactivate your account at any time by subscribing to a plan.

Billing

Plans are billed monthly or annually through Polar (polar.sh). By subscribing to a plan, you authorize Polar to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

Price changes

We may change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will apply at the start of your next billing period. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel before the new price takes effect.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Axle dashboard or through the Polar billing portal. Upon cancellation, you retain access to your paid plan features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account is paused.

No refunds

All subscription payments are non-refundable. When you cancel, you retain access to your paid plan until the end of your current billing period. No partial or prorated refunds are issued under any circumstances.

Transaction limits

Each plan has a monthly transaction limit. Transactions that exceed your plan's limit will not be processed. We will notify you in the dashboard when you are approaching your limit.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

- Process payments for illegal goods, services, or activities

- Violate Stripe's acceptable use policy or restricted business list

- Circumvent transaction limits, rate limits, or security measures

- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service

- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

- Use the Service to transmit malware, spam, or malicious content

- Resell or redistribute the Service without our written permission

- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when using the Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you are violating these terms.

6. API Keys and Domains

Your API key is used to authenticate requests between your Framer site and the Axle service. You are responsible for keeping your API key secure.

You must verify ownership of domains that you register in the Axle dashboard. We reserve the right to remove domains that you do not own or that are used for fraudulent purposes.

7. Stripe Connection

By connecting your Stripe account to Axle, you authorize Axle to access your Stripe account through Stripe Connect for the purpose of creating checkout sessions and retrieving transaction data.

Axle does not access your Stripe balance, initiate payouts, modify your Stripe settings, or access your customers' payment card details. You maintain full control of your Stripe account at all times.

You may disconnect your Stripe account from Axle at any time. Disconnecting will prevent new transactions from being processed through Axle on your sites.

8. Data and Privacy

Our collection and use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy at withaxle.com/privacy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, logos, and content, is owned by Axle and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

You retain ownership of your content (product names, descriptions, images) that you use with the Service.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

We do not guarantee any specific transaction processing times, uptime percentages, or revenue outcomes from using the Service.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Axle shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes but is not limited to lost revenue, lost profits, loss of data, or business interruption.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Axle in the 12 months preceding the claim.

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Axle from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page in the Axle dashboard. Deleting your account will permanently remove all your data, including your profile, transaction history, API keys, domain configurations, and Stripe connection. Your Polar subscription will be cancelled immediately.

Account deletion is irreversible.

14. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

If you do not agree with revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
